Casiguran Aurora- Idinaos ang 2022 Mayor’s Cup Chess Tournament noong June 9, 2022 sa pangunguna ni Hon. Ricardo A. Bitong, Punong Bayan at sa pangangasiwa ni For. Jestonee C. Bitong, MENRO kaakibat ng pagdiriwang ng ika-143 taong anibersaryo ng pagkakatatag ng bayan ng Casiguran.
Pinasimulan ang laban sa pamamagitan ng First Move ni Doc Ricky at black move ng pinakabatang kalahok sa paligsahan.
Nilahukan ito ng 54 na manlalaro ng Chess na Kasiguranin at residente ng Casiguran kung saan 46 ang kabilang sa Open Category at 8 naman ang sa Kiddies Category.
“Ang Chess ay larong matalino, ibig sabihin lahat kayong kasali ngayon ay matatalino” ayon kay Mayor Bitong.
Nagbigay din ng hamon si DILG MLGOO, Jet Vizconde sa mga manlalaro na nawa’y hindi lang ang paglalaro ng Chess ang maging hangarin bagkus maging katuwang din sila ni MENRO Jestonee sa pangangalaga ng kalikasan.
Nagsagawa naman ng eleksyon ang pamunuan ng Casiguran Chess Club matapos ang paligsahan upang mas lalong mapalakas ang kakayanan ng mga Kasiguranin sa larangan ng paglalaro ng chess.
