The Municipal Tourism, Information, Culture and Arts Office (MTICAO) successfully conducted the Basic Life Support (BLS) and Water Search and Rescue on September 14-17 2026, at Camp and Sea Brgy. Calabgan, Casiguran, Aurora, as the fifth activity in the World Tourism Month Celebration 2026.

The training aims to strengthen the emergency response capabilities and lifesaving skills of tourism frontliners and lifeguards of the different resorts and campsites in the municipality. It also provided participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in Basic Life Support, first aid, and water search and rescue techniques, preparing them to respond effectively to water-related emergencies.

The activity was made possible through the support of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 3, represented by Sir Ell Salta, and the expertise and guidance of our accredited DOT trainers, Ms. Myrna Amon-Tubeo, Mr. Edwin Aguilar, and Mr. Melchor Padilla.

Their dedication and commitment greatly contributed to the success of the training and to the enhancement of the participants’ knowledge and skills in emergency response and water safety. We are grateful for their invaluable support in strengthening the capacity of our tourism stakeholders and ensuring safer and more prepared tourism destinations.
